Sarah Mularski

Co-Owner of Matthews Yoga Collective

I moved to Matthews, North Carolina in 2010 after meeting my now husband at a wedding and relocating from Florida to start our life together. I quickly found a job at a Charlotte law firm, and not long after, we welcomed our son. At the time, I was convinced we needed to move closer to Uptown, where we both worked—but as fate would have it, we stayed in Matthews. Over time, what began as a practical decision turned into appreciation and love for our town.

Professionally, I eventually transitioned into corporate litigation project management—a field I truly enjoyed and dedicated just under a decade to. It challenged me in the best ways, strengthened my leadership skills, and taught me the value of thoughtful collaboration and structure. After recently retiring from that career, I’ve been able to fully focus my energy on growing our business and deepening my roots in this community through Matthews Yoga Collective.

I began practicing yoga sporadically in my mid-20s, but it wasn’t until my 30’s that the practice became truly transformative. Yoga offered me so much more than movement—it became a source of clarity, confidence, and connection. When I’m fully immersed in my practice, I feel grounded yet inspired, confident but challenged, creative yet intentional. That feeling of harmony, even if only for a moment, is what I hope to share with others in our studio.

Matthews Yoga Collective was born from a simple but powerful idea: that there must be others who, like us, were craving a meaningful yoga community here in Matthews. For years, we found ourselves driving across town just to practice in the kind of classes and environments that felt intentional, welcoming, and rooted in real connection. We knew Matthews deserved a studio like that—a space where people of all levels could feel seen, supported, and inspired. With MYC, we set out to create more than just a yoga studio. We wanted to build a community-centered space where movement meets mindfulness, and where both first-time yogis and lifelong practitioners can grow, connect, and feel at home. From day one, our mission has been to deliver great yoga instruction, create positive energy, and serve the Matthews community with heart.
